I am writing to introduce the Visions in Conflict Initiative and propose a collaborative opportunity to bring transformative conflict resolution training to your organization (https://trainings.visionsinconflict.com/). Rooted in interdisciplinary approaches and timeless strategies, this initiative aligns seamlessly with a mission to bridge practice, policy, research, and advocacy to create a world free from violence, abuse, and trauma.

The Visions in Conflict project originated at the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Division 36, Psychology of Religion, with groundbreaking symposia held in 2009 at Loyola College, Maryland. These symposia featured distinguished professionals and scholars addressing the complexities of conflict through psychological, cultural, and spiritual lenses. Since then, the project has expanded, producing significant works, including Visions in Conflict: International Perspectives on Values and Enmity (2010) and Visions in Conflict Analysis (2024), etc., which provide actionable frameworks for addressing modern challenges such as the Syrian Civil War, Sudan’s crisis, and Haiti’s turmoil.

Given your dedication to promoting trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and gender-responsive interventions, our initiative’s methodologies—ranging from acknowledgment and forgiveness frameworks to culturally tailored mediation techniques—can significantly contribute to the professional growth of your attendees. We propose offering Visions in Conflict training as a Continuing Education (CE) program, equipping professionals across disciplines with the tools to address the root causes of conflict effectively.

This collaboration would also include exploring case studies on the psychological and spiritual dimensions of reconciliation, as well as fostering dialogue on conflict mediation strategies rooted in sports, religion, psychology, and cultural literacy. Such training will provide professionals with the skills to transform polarized environments and advance peacebuilding in their respective fields.

The need for innovative conflict resolution approaches is greater than ever. As global tensions persist, the timeless strategies shared in our volumes—anchored in interdisciplinary scholarship—provide crucial insights for building understanding and fostering unity. I am confident that this partnership will further both of our missions to empower communities and professionals alike.

Please let us know how we might collaborate to bring this training to your consumers, attendees and professionals (https://trainings.visionsinconflict.com/). We are eager to discuss any additional opportunities to contribute to your events and initiatives. Thank you for considering this proposal. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Brian C. Alston
